Pledge to Stand Against Sexual Assault: A Survivor's Strength

  1. My Courage: I acknowledge that continuing my story takes immense courage.

  2. My Worth: I affirm my intrinsic worth and dignity, knowing that what happened to me does not define me.

  3. My Healing Journey: Healing is a personal, ongoing process that I pursue with patience and compassion.

  4. My Right to Support: Seeking help is a sign of strength. I have the right to access healing resources.

  5. My Voice: I recognize the power of my voice and my story.

  6. My Empowerment: I embrace my empowerment, reclaim my life, set boundaries, and make choices that are right for me.

I am more than my experiences. I am resilient! I am strong! I am empowered!

Together, we will create a world where every survivor is believed, supported, and empowered.

Together, we can create a culture of belief and support. My voice has power, and I choose to use it to believe survivors and stand against sexual assault.

I pledge to:

  1. Support Survivors: Actively listen, believe, and support those who have experienced sexual assault.

  2. Raise Awareness: Educate myself and others about the realities and impact of sexual assault.

  3. Promote Consent: Advocate for clear and enthusiastic consent in all interactions.

  4. Challenge Rape Culture: Speak out against harmful stereotypes, victim-blaming, and any behavior that perpetuates rape culture.

  5. Stand in Solidarity: Join efforts to create safer communities and support organizations working to end sexual violence.

Together, we will create a world where every voice is heard, and every survivor is believed.

My Voice Has Power:
Stand Against Sexual Assault

Join us this April for a Sexual Assault Awareness Month event as Friends Against Family Violence re-launches My Voice Has Power. This event is dedicated to spreading the message that our voices have power and can create a culture of belief and support.

We invite you to take the bystander pledge to stand against sexual assault and support survivors. For those who have survived, we offer a pledge to affirm your strength and resilience—because your voice has power.

When you sign the pledge, you'll receive a ribbon: teal for supporters and white for survivors. These ribbons will be displayed in solidarity, showing our community's commitment to ending sexual violence.

Join us in creating a world where every voice is heard, and every survivor is believed. Stand with us, support survivors, and make your voice heard.
